Responsibilities
- As a Sourcing Manager , you’ll be responsible for developing sourcing and procurement strategies for assigned equipment, supply, and service categories across the Vitalant System.
- The Sourcing Manager will lead cross-functional sourcing projects, vendor selection, contracting and contract management initiatives in support of Vitalant, affiliates and related entities.
- Conduct market research for alternative products/services and procurement sources.
- Analyze trends in commodity markets, changes in industry, technology, regulatory changes and trends in Vitalant spend.
- Prepare and maintains basic project plans.
- Use a plan to align team members and successfully achieve timing milestones and outcomes.
- Evaluate RFI and RFP responses and broadly consider vendor sourcing opportunities.
- Lead a cross-functional team through a structured bid evaluation and selection process.
- Negotiates contracts for capital equipment, supplies and services.
- Provides transitional project planning and oversight of switch-overs when awarding contracts to new suppliers.
- Independently develops RFP documents to meet Vitalant stakeholder needs.
- Ensures RFP bid and negotiation process is conducted in the most fair and ethical manner.
- Prepares accurate bid analysis and creates presentations and cost modules to recommend the most responsive and responsible bidder on Total Cost of Ownership.
- Presents and makes recommendations to leadership.
- Applies fact-based negotiation tactics to resolve differences between vendor and Vitalant ensuring an acceptable outcome for both parties.
- Seeks assistance from Senior Sourcing Manager as needed.
- Provides support to management (inside and outside Corporate Supply Chain) in planning and executing sourcing strategies for specific projects.
- Facilitates constructive change through strong communication and leadership skills.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with strategic vendors to ensure key spend categories are under contract.
- Mitigates supply risk by monitoring and adapting to changes in the supplier’s operations, product quality, capabilities to supply, key personnel or other factors that could impair Vitalant operations.
- Decides if proposed contract changes and modifications are reasonable and in the best interest of Vitalant.
- Consults with Strategic Sourcing Manager as appropriate.
