Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience managing IT Systems or off-the-shelf products.
  • Must possess experience managing and developing professional staff, technical staff, including vendors, with accountability towards a budget
  • Experience in all project phases of software development, including analysis and design, requirements, development, implementation, and operational support.
  • Must possess strong management skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts as well as facts and to identify priorities and organize activities accordingly.
  • Experience with physical assets and their maintenance practices in an asset-intensive organization, preferably in the transportation and rail industries.
  • Experience in utilizing and leveraging an Enterprise Asset Management information system, preferably in the transportation industry
  • Must have working experience with EAM suite of tools, such as Infor/HxgN EAM, Maximo, etc.
  • General knowledge and awareness of ISO 5500 principles and asset management best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to complete short and long-term technical projects effectively and as efficiently as possible.
  • Experience in combining AI/ML algorithms to solve business solutions by incorporating descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive components
  • Must have an understanding of data engineering tools and techniques.
  • May need to work outside of normal business hours (i.e., nights and weekends).
  • May need to travel to other agencies, other MTA locations, or other external sites
  • Certification of Project Management Methodologies (PMP, PRINCE, Scrum master,
  • etc) to be able to instill structure in EAM-related projects.
  • Must possess progressively responsible asset management experience in railroad
  • operations.
  • Knowledge of asset management software and processes, geospatial methodologies, GIS, GPS, RS, LRS, enterprise system architecture, spatial and relational databases, and mobile technology implementation.
  • High-quality quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, together with demonstrated proficiency in business case development and implementation planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete short-and long-term technical projects effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the end-user relationship to ensure the EAM suite of tools successfully meet their business needs, support and lead design, and requirements and training meetings.
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to LIRR's assets and/or practices is beneficial.
  • Experience in utilizing and leveraging an Enterprise Asset Management information system, preferably in the transportation industry
