Requirements
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in archaeological fieldwork or cultural resource monitoring
  • Experience monitoring construction or infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and cultural resource compliance requirements
  • Ability to identify basic prehistoric and historic-period archaeological materials
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work safely in active construction environments and outdoor field conditions
  • Familiarity with Section 106, NHPA, and local agency permitting requirements
Preferred Skills
  • Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field
  • Experience with Southern California cultural resources and regional archaeology
  • Familiarity with Section 106, NHPA, and local agency permitting requirements
  • Experience working alongside Native American tribal monitors and understanding consultation protocols
  • Experience using GPS units, Survey123, ArcGIS, or similar field data collection tools
  • Experience preparing technical reports, monitoring summaries, or discovery documentation
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour construction safety training
Education
  • (Not required) – Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
