Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical equipment and tooling to meet customer specifications, with a strong focus on functionality, timing, cost, and end-user value
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models (SolidWorks preferred) that adhere to industry standards and are ready for fabrication by internal or external build sources
- Ensure all designs incorporate critical considerations such as safety, ergonomics, cycle time, durability, ease of setup, maintainability, and manufacturability
- Source and evaluate components required for tooling and equipment builds; develop scopes of work, initiate procurement, and track project materials
- Prepare comprehensive quotations for new and modified tooling, including cost estimates, lead times, production rates, material yield, and labor requirements
- Collaborate with and manage external design/build partners when project scope exceeds internal capabilities
- Oversee and coordinate fabrication, installation, testing, and repair activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality expectations
- Develop and document operating procedures, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance guidelines
- Support training efforts by instructing end users on proper equipment operation and assisting in the creation of work instructions and training materials Qualifications
