Requirements
  • Essential project management certification required (e.g., PMP, CAP-M).
  • 10+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
  • Relevant experience includes small- to medium-scale project management, or project lead engineering experience on projects.
  • Familiarity with NERC Reliability Standards across all Operations & Planning (O&P) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), including, but not limited to, CIP, EOP, FAC, MOD, PRC, TPL, and VAR.Experience executing or leading studies for one or more of these standards.
  • Familiarity with utilities, developers, operators, and renewable companies subject to NERC.
  • Knowledge of substation and grid operation as they relate to the above listed.
  • Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources and assertively directing consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others to consistently complete tasks competently and efficiently.
  • Candidate must have good English verbal and written communication skills and work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Skills
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in protective relaying, SCADA, substation communications, cybersecurity, transmission planning, or other studies is beneficial, but not required.
Education
  • (Not required) – Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
  • (Not required) – Essential project management certification required (e.g., PMP, CAP-M).
  • (Not required) – 10+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
  • (Not required) – Master’s Degree in Engineering.
