Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting functions: month-end close, GL maintenance, AR, AP, cash management, payroll, fixed assets and reconciliations
- Maintain and optimize trucking-specific accounting processes: fuel tax (IFTA) reporting, tolls, detention/demurrage, layover, driver settlements/settlement payables, and lease vs. buy accounting for equipment.
- Ensure payroll accuracy for drivers and support staff, including pay-by-mile, bonuses, deductions, and benefits administration.
- Control cash and working capital: AR collections, credit policy, vendor negotiations, fleet financing, factoring company management, and bank covenant compliance.
- Lead audits and tax filings; coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors; manage sales/use/tax reporting and state registrations relevant to operations.

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in accounting and financial management, including deep knowledge of GAAP, multi-entity consolidation, inter-company accounting, and fixed-asset/fleet accounting, budgeting, reporting, and audits
- 7+ years progressive accounting experience with at least 3-5 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
- Knowledge of financial planning, cash flow forecasting, and financial strategy development
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and financial software tools including Intuit Enterprise Suite
- Leadership and communication skills to guide financial teams and present financial insights to stakeholders
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under deadlines
- Ability to adapt to evolving market dynamics and contribute to strategic planning efforts
Preferred Skills
- At least 3 years prior experience in trucking logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is highly preferred
Education

Role Description The Controller will oversee and lead all financial aspects of Warrior Logistics Group, ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization.
