Responsibilities
- As an EP Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the radiologic equipment and assisting the physicians with interventional and surgical procedures.
- EP Techs are also responsible for preparing and observing the patients undergoing the procedure and reporting abnormal activity.
- Tasks As an EP Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Follow physicians' orders.
- The EP Tech assists physicians with cath lab procedures and contributes to cardiac diagnosis within scope of practice.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise related to sterile technique, and all aspects of assisting physician in the role of the scrub person
- Demonstrate ability to continuously monitor ECG for abnormalities and report emergent or urgent rhythms to physician operator and other team members
- Monitor and record intracardiac and intravascular pressures
- Establish and maintain ongoing communication with patient throughout the procedure to facilitate patient comfort, emotional support, reassurance, and safety
- Demonstrate competency in arrhythmia identification, hemodynamic changes, and all interventional procedures
- Document procedure thoroughly and accurately using lab-specific documentation system to include hemodynamic data, medication administration, device implants, patient physical assessment, procedural findings, and treatment plan
- Practice radiation safety per protocol

EP Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
