Requirements
  • Knowledge of graphic design, layouts, print specifications, and USPS bulk mail regulations
  • Knowledge of fundraising software and constituent management theories
  • Eligible for flex schedule.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in professional fundraising
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in professional fundraising
  • At least 3 years of their experience was supervising a development team.
  • A track record of cultivating and closing a major gift or grant.
  • CFRE credential from the CFRE International
  • Organized, flexible, detail-oriented and work at an above-average pace.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, embrace a high standard of personal ethics, and analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to evolve the overseen departments to the next level of performance
  • Advanced fundraising skills especially in online and direct mail appeals.
  • Project creation and management skills.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Proven ability and success in face-to-face solicitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to be thorough and conscientious in responding to community members, working with staff and board members, and maintaining files.
  • Strong commitment to the AFP Code of Ethics.
  • Proven ability to work with high-level volunteers, as well as board members.
  • Experience in supporting volunteer committees.
  • Ability and eagerness to interact positively with volunteers and board members.
  • Success in asking for and closing major gifts and in building and maintaining long term relationships with major individual donors and foundations is required.

Education
