- Pre-Sales
- Organize and run product demonstrations on all SPT Labtech liquid handlers
- Subject Matter and Instrument Expertise
- Maintain a high-level operational knowledge of our liquid handling products
- Maintain high level of subject matter knowledge in relevant application areas
- Provide on-going subject matter expertise support to FAS and Territory Management teams
- Arrange and provide applications-based training to new and existing users of all SPT Labtech and Apricot liquid handling instruments
- Provide on-going remote and in-person applications support to end-users.
- Develop, modify, and enhance advanced liquid handling and automation protocols to optimize client operations.

- Contribute to conference strategy and attend conferences
- Maintain Salesforce recordkeeping
- Marketing
- Seek and deliver a targeted amount of marketing content in the form of customer-driven applications notes, webinars, and conference-presentations, including posters
- Participate in strategic collaborations to regularly deliver scientific content for marketing
- Collect customer feedback (product development, software, etc)
- Maintain positive customer relationships
- Mentor and provide guidance to Associate FAS, as needed
Commitments
We are looking for a personable, well-organized scientist with a strong background in at least one, and interest in all of the applications in which our instruments are used.
The role will require significant travel throughout the South USA, with occasional travel to the East USA and our UK headquarters.
The role requires working with colleagues from across multiple time zones and territories, requiring some flexibility in meeting schedules, but as our FAS team are home-based, there will be flexibility in scheduling appointments with customers and colleagues, allowing for a balance in work and personal responsibilities.

Requirements

- MSc with at least five years' practical experience or a PhD and at least two years practical experience in a Biological Science discipline, liquid handling, laboratory automation or related field in an industry or academic environment
- Working knowledge of NGS methods used in research, with experience using liquid handling and automation being preferable (HTS, Assay Development, or molecular or structural biology backgrounds will also be considered)
- Experience with workflow optimization in genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology
- Good understanding of genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology
- Practical experience with genomics/molecular biology is desirable
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%), including internationally
