Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in water resources engineering for transportation projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience preparing plans, technical reports, and engineering calculations
  • Strong knowledge of water resources engineering, including drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, stream restoration, bridge scour, outfall design, and TMDL requirements
  • Assist in developing scope and fee proposals
  • Exhibited client coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Participation in project pursuits and other business development efforts
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Maryland Department of Transportation Modals, Maryland counties, and local municipalities
  • Proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) modeling software including TR-20, TR-55, HydroCAD and HY-8.
Preferred Skills
  • Assist in developing scope and fee proposals
  • Participation in project pursuits and other business development efforts
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with InRoads or OpenRoads Designer preferred
  • Knowledge of Maryland Department of Transportation Modals, Maryland counties, and local municipalities
  • Experience working with MDE, Familiarity with SHA guidelines and procedures is beneficial
  • Proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) modeling software including TR-20, TR-55, HydroCAD and HY-8.
  • Experience in ABSCOUR, HEC-18, HY-8, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS desired but not required
Education
  • (Not required) – Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • (Not required) – Licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months
