- Work cross-functionally to develop and execute strategic sourcing category strategies
- Strategic management of multi-million-dollar supply base for categories such as Robots, Printers, Plastics, Consumables, Furniture, & Hardware.
- Initiate and lead RFI/RFP/RFQ activities in support of business objectives
- Analyze historical spend information and business forecasts to identify opportunities for supplier leveraging
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to continuously improve our supplier-related business processes
- Continuously monitor supplier performance to ensure key performance indicators are being met
- Work with Sales, Project Management Organization, and Systems Design & Engineering to develop and communicate supplier-related forecast information to ensure that supply base is equipped to manage our rapid growth
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers coordinating requirements with iA’s Business Leadership and Legal teams
- Track and report supply chain metrics such as cost savings, days payable outstanding, on-time delivery, quality, and warranty for assigned categories
- Evaluate and develop new suppliers by conducting supplier assessments, and performing supplier onboarding activities
- Work as a member of new product development teams to establish new product supply chains
- Stay current with market trends for assigned categories by conducting research and through attending market related trade shows and events
Commitments
This role follows a hybrid work model, with a combination of onsite and remote work, and is based in either Indianapolis, IN or Johnson City, NY.
Flexibility to adapt to the changing business priorities of a fast paced rapidly growing technology business
Up to 25% travel.
Typical schedule is approximately one week every other month, with occasional variation depending on business needs.

- 6+ Years of relevant strategic sourcing category management experience
- Experience negotiating multi-year, multi-million-dollar supplier contracts delivering significant business value
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of the financial impacts related to supplier contract terms and conditions
- Understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems and their associated manufacturing processes
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing business priorities of a fast paced rapidly growing technology business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to analyze and summarize large volumes of data to support business decisions
- Experience with purchasing and planning functions within an ERP/MRP system

The Role
As a Category Manager, you will be an integral part of iA’ Strategic Sourcing Team. You are the owner of the overall relationship between iA and our suppliers for their assigned categories. You will be responsible for developing category specific strategies and leading sourcing projects to deliver value from our supply chain through innovation, cost optimization, supplier performance, and working capital improvements. You will also negotiate large-scale multi-year supply agreements as well as smaller project specific deals. This position is responsible for the cross-functional collaboration of our internal stakeholders as it relates to our supplier relationships. They have a detailed understanding of the market for their assigned categories, and they are advisors to the organization with regards to market innovation, risks, and changes. They are responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining a robust supply base. They are key team members supporting new product development initiatives. In addition, they provide next level support to the Buying function within the manufacturing plant and the Subcontracts team.

Compensation
The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $83,255.67 to $112,640.03, though a candidate’s base annual salary shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
