- Financial Reporting Oversight
- Maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts through GL Reconciliation and monthly review of account balances / activity
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement compilation and review
- Assist with year-end external audit preparation and support
- Support regulatory reporting, tax filings, and related compliance requirements
- Analyze, investigate, and advise on project variances and profitability to management
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting for corporate departments
- Company Financial – Month-End Close
- Lead and manage key components of the monthly close process
- Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger activity
- Oversee cash activity reporting and support treasury management
- Monitor accounting transactions throughout the month and resolve any issues that occur in the process daily
- Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accountants, corporate services and operations
- Fixed Assets
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules
- Track capital expenditures and ensure proper classification
- Prepare depreciation entries and related reporting
- Various special projects, systems implementations, and ad-hoc requests Qualifications

Position Overview
Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded General Contractor based in Central Florida, is a dynamic and growing company seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in overseeing the monthly close process, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet accounts, supporting financial statement compilation and review, and providing analytical insight into project performance and company financial results.
