- Collects water levels from injection wells and production wells.
- Operates a variety of tools, water quality instrumentation, electric devices, a high-volume air compressor, and a forklift.
- Exercises valves on and off streets and public right-of-way.
- Collects and organizes a variety of injection well performance data.
- Assists in performing a variety of tests related to injection well performance.
- Coordinates the injection well operations with water treatment plant operations.
- Operates and maintains recycled water pipeline systems.
- Observe and document injection well development and/or redevelopment activities.
- Works with subcontractors to restore well performance, perform special sampling, or well rehabilitation.
- Prepares accurate, complete, and neat field notes.
- Responds to emergencies related to District injection and distribution facilities.
- Executes traffic lane closure set-ups and removal in compliance with City ordinances.
- Performs work in both non-permitted and permitted confined spaces.
- Responds to emergency situations as required.
- Assists on-call 24/7 with the ability to return to the site within 45 minutes of callback if required.

Mon-Fri hours: 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Will be required to work on-call standby rotation with the ability to be on-site within 45 minutes of being called.

The Injection Recharge System Operator is the first in a series of four classifications. Incumbents are responsible for performing semi-skilled Technician to journey-level duties in operating and maintaining injection wells and water distribution systems. The Injection Recharge System Operator is distinguished from other classifications by its responsibility for operating and maintaining injection recharge systems.
