- This role ensures the laboratory maintains full CLIA and COLA compliance while supporting operational excellence.
- This position works closely with the Laboratory Director to maintain high-quality laboratory processes and implement improvements that support continued laboratory growth.
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can guide staff, troubleshoot technical challenges, and maintain a culture of accountability and scientific excellence.
- Oversee and maintain the laboratory Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) program
- Ensure full compliance with CLIA, COLA, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain QA/QC objectives, policies, and monitoring systems
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Maintain CAP proficiency testing programs and address any deficiencies
- Perform internal audits and prepare the laboratory for regulatory inspections
- Assist with regulatory responses and corrective action plans
- Technical Oversight
- Ensure proper qualification, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, testing methods, and laboratory processes
- Maintain operational oversight of instrumentation and testing methods
- Review laboratory data to ensure accuracy, precision, and compliance
- Leadership & Staff Development
- Supervise and coordinate technical staff activities
- Train laboratory personnel on procedures, quality systems, and best practices
- Document and maintain training records and competency assessments
- Lead by example through hands-on training and mentorship
- Promote a culture of scientific understanding and accountability
- Operational Support
- Assist with development and validation of new laboratory tests and instrumentation
- Support laboratory expansion and process improvements
- Collaborate with the General Laboratory Supervisor and Laboratory Director on strategic initiatives
- Assist with technical duties when necessary
