Requirements
  • Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license, in the appropriate option, is required.
  • Evidence of license must be presented at the time of appointment.
  • Experience : One (1) year of experience managing engineering projects as a licensed, professional engineer.
  • Selective Qualification: One (1) year of experience in the design and management of Traffic Control Devices (TCD) design and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design projects.
  • Proficient in the design and review of traffic control device plans/cost estimates for different types of projects ranging from minor projects to the most complex and/or innovative highway and/or geometric improvement projects.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Expert knowledge of professional transportation engineering principles, federal/state traffic engineering regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Expert knowledge of standards and specifications for construction and materials used for traffic control devices.
  • Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
