Responsibilities
- Follow guidelines and policies of Scottish Rite and Volunteer Services in coordinating the onboarding of junior volunteers, including processing applications, participating in group interviews, and organizing information sessions and orientations
- Work in volunteer management software to keep detailed and accurate information, run reports, etc., on the junior program
- Build and publish a weekly roster of junior volunteers (including photos) for staff
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior volunteers through daily rounds and provide direction to lead junior volunteers, especially in coordinating the group project
- Track and communicate daily fundraising updates
- Manage the daily explore and learn sessions for the junior volunteers
- Take photos of junior volunteers throughout the program, edit/file photos for easy access
- Gather feedback from weekly junior volunteers, staff, and volunteers.
- Relay info to Volunteer Services staff and provide feedback to individual junior volunteers
- Manage the weekly placements and produce a weekly schedule of junior volunteers through the volunteer management system
- Coordinate the end-of-week celebration for junior volunteers for each session
- Complete a write-up and provide photos for each week of the junior program for the weekly newsletter, as well as the bi-annual volunteer newsletter

- College student
- Experience with social media platforms
- Experience working with and/or supervising volunteers, and teens, serving as a camp counselor, or a sports team leader, preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, "think on your feet" environment
- Self-initiating, creative, flexible, patient, and willing to be appropriately responsive to volunteers
- Strong computer skills as well as the ability to operate a telephone system, audio-visual machines, and equipment
- Good judgment when screening and interviewing potential junior volunteers, and must be able to establish good professional rapport with patients, families, volunteers, and Scottish Rite staff
Preferred Skills
