Responsibilities
- Engages with College District stakeholders to evaluate District-provided administrative services, identify issues and needs, and advocate for College interests in alignment with College leadership priorities.
- Serves as an advisor and mentor to the Colleges Vice Presidents of Administrative Services and capital project leaders.
- Acts as the Administrative Services liaison to the District, keeping College leadership informed of strategic and emerging administrative issues to support timely direction and decision-making.
- Communicates proactively with the Vice Chancellor of Finance & Business Operations and Administrative Affairs regarding College initiatives and plans that may affect District operations or finances, ensuring impacts are identified and addressed early.
- Initiates and oversees financial analyses related to space utilization, capital projects, and real-property transactions conducted by District finance staff.
- Coordinates with the Vice Chancellor of Instructional Services to align real estate assets and capital planning with projected instructional models, space requirements, and enrollment forecasts.
- Directs and manages all real estate consulting services, whether provided by the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services or independent contractors on behalf of the District and Colleges.
- Leads planning and oversight of District and College compliance with Washington State Clean Buildings Performance Standards and the City of Seattle Building Energy Performance Standards.
- Oversees District sustainability initiatives and related positions.
- Advises each College President on administrative matters and provides an impartial perspective on non-administrative functions as needed.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for each College with the District and external partners regarding capital projects.
- Develops, updates, and maintains capital project policies and procedures.
- Determines and secures resources necessary to meet facilities management and operational objectives.
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of facilities data and reporting systems, including the CMMS, ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Consults on the development of specifications and scopes of work for construction, repair, and renovation projects, ensuring architects, contractors, and specialists receive clear and complete information for contract selection and award processes.
- Provides consultation on the financial components of capital projects.
- Advises on the preparation of capital allocation requests.
- Provides professional guidance for campus master planning efforts, collaborating with the City of Seattle, community partners, and College stakeholders to develop ten-year Campus Master Plans.
- Recommends facility priorities for the use of capital funds.
- Oversees procurement of external contractors, materials, and services as required.

Opportunity Description
Seattle Colleges District Office is looking to hire an Advisor to the Chancellor and Presidents.
Salary Range for this position is $123,569 to $170,641 annually (depending on experience).

Position Summary
Under the leadership of the Chancellor and campus Presidents, the Advisor to the Chancellor and Presidents is responsible for advising on major capital projects and the district-wide real estate portfolio and projects. The Advisor works collaboratively with the College¿s leadership team and members of the College community to formulate policies and procedures to assure the effective operation of the College, with a particular emphasis on administrative services and operations. In collaboration and consultation with the relevant College and District administrators, the Advisor advises on the vision and leadership in the areas of capital projects and space utilization.
The Advisor shall guide the identification of surplus real property (land and buildings) and manage the disposition, ground leasing or redevelopment of property deemed surplus to the long-range plans of the District and its colleges.
The Advisor is the policy lead on issues of sustainability and energy conservation for the district and its three colleges.
The Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing policies for Seattle Colleges. As assigned, the Advisor will coordinate with capital projects staff and provide administrative oversight of facilities planning, capital development and improvements. In addition, and as directed, this position supports the colleges in their development of college facilities master plans, capital budgets and biannual state capital appropriation requests.
