Responsibilities
- Translate strategic priorities into disciplined quarterly and annual execution plans tied to measurable outcomes
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, expense controls, vendor contracts, and P&L accountability
- Strengthen cost discipline and improve financial reporting accuracy across the organization
- Build and maintain board-level financial dashboards and executive reporting systems
- Design and implement structured operating frameworks (EOS, OKRs, Lean, or similar) aligned to strategic priorities
- Develop KPIs and organizational scorecards that drive accountability and performance
- Design, document, and continuously improve core operational processes to increase clarity, speed, and accountability
- Own and optimize the organization’s technology stack, including integration across CRM, finance, marketing, HR, and operations systems
- Partner with Marketing and developers to improve website performance and user pathways
- Build and maintain organization-wide KPI dashboards and reporting rhythms
- Provide clear, data-driven reporting to the Executive Director, leadership team, and Board
- Oversee hiring systems, onboarding processes, performance management frameworks, and role clarity systems (KRAs, scorecards)
- Ensure nonprofit employment compliance, risk management, and HR system effectiveness
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions that strengthen execution at scale

The Chesterton Society is seeking a Director of Business Operations to build and strengthen the operational infrastructure required to support the rapid growth of the Society and the Chesterton Schools Network. As our work expands nationally and internationally — across school network operations, publications, conferences, pilgrimages, and related initiatives — this role ensures that systems, financial discipline, technology integration, and organizational clarity keep pace with mission and scale.
The role requires a seasoned operator with an entrepreneurial instinct and a deep commitment to our mission. This leader must bring clarity to complexity, earn trust across leadership and teams, establish focus amid competing priorities, and ensure strategy translates into measurable action.
