Requirements
  • Experience Only
  • At least four (4) years of experience applying knowledge of and/or experience with the installation and/or repair processes of electronic, traffic, tolling, or IT/computer equipment, such as VMS boards, antennas, lane controllers, loops, RTMS, Toll Rate Dynamic Pricing Signs and surveillance cameras, which included monitoring, relaying, and/or reporting data from computer systems.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience equal to at least four (4) years.
  • Experience which included applying knowledge of and/or experience with the installation and/or repair processes of electronic, traffic, tolling, or IT/computer equipment, such as VMS boards, antennas, lane controllers, loops, RTMS, Toll Rate Dynamic Pricing Signs and surveillance cameras, which included monitoring, relaying, and/or reporting data from computer systems will be considered.

  • A current valid driver’s license is required for all Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) positions which require operating a state or personal motor vehicle to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
  • Expeience ensuring compliance with specs, contracts and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Experience performing incident response/management;
  • Comfortable learning new software;
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Gmail, SAP, and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.

  • Years of State service experience related to the duties of this position;
  • Experience with traffic operations platforms and equipment such as TAP software, ETC’s riteSuite, and/or CCTV;
  • Experience with equipement such as VMS boards, antennas, lane controllers, loops, RTMS, Toll Rate Dynamic Pricing Signs and surveillance cameras;
  • Leadership skills and experience;
  • Experience leading, overseeing and providing direction and training to contractors or employees;
  • Experience with equiment installation and repair;
  • Expeience ensuring compliance with specs, contracts and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Experience performing incident response/management;
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making;
  • Ability to monitor systems which relay information about damaged roadside equipment or devices;
  • Understanding of how fiber and Ethernet work;
  • Skill and experience tracking and reporting data;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a demanding environment;
  • Able to prioritize incoming information;
  • Passion for safety and service to the public;
  • Comfortable using hand tools;
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, investigative, problem solving, and decision making skills;
  • Comfortable learning new software;

  • (Not required) – Education from an accredited college or university in transportation, IT; Electrical Trades; Systems, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or another field of study related to the duties of this position will be considered.
