- The Research Program Manager will manage the daily operations of multiple complex research projects with minimal supervision.
- S/he will achieve desired organizational goals of the Brain Health Registry (BHR) research study.
- S/he will also be experienced in project management and able to work independently to identify and solve problems, with the judgment of knowing when to escalate to management.
- S/he will be responsible for all aspects of human subjects’ research and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies.
- Duties include monitoring and evaluating progress of research grants; understanding policies and procedures to identify issues and develop alternative solutions; management, planning and execution of project/program objectives and milestones ensuring projects stays within scope, budget and timelines; identifying research priorities; managing communication of project status and preparation of analytical reports for leadership and internal/external stakeholders; review and analyze trends to advise and develop recommendations to achieve or modify the goals of the program; and use of advanced operational concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues.

The VA Advanced Imaging Research Center (VAARC) is a research center dedicated to studying the causes and effects of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, using imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET). Various fields of studies include imaging of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, depression, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, Gulf War illness, and substance abuse. We also work on the development of novel powerful methods for brain MR, including spiral imaging, and new approaches for processing and multivariate statistical analysis of brain imaging.
RADIOLOGY AND BIOMEDICAL IMAGING
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine (SOM) at UCSF. The mission of the department includes patient care, teaching and research. The Department operates across six sites in San Francisco, including the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
