Responsibilities
On the finance/accounting team at Sutter Health, you'll prepare journal entries, perform monthly account reconciliations for Supply Chain-related GL accounts, and produce accurate and timely financial reports and statements. You will analyze variances against budget and prior periods, research and summarize variance drivers for stakeholders, and perform financial forecasting and analysis on operations, profitability, benchmarking, and resource utilization. You will also support leaders with annual operating and capital budgets, maintain and reconcile financial reporting/cost accounting systems, and assist with audit documentation and compliance while partnering with Finance, AP, and operational teams to validate data.
Commitments
This is a full-time, non-exempt hybrid role based in the Sacramento area, generally working 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday with weekend work as needed and an expected 40 hours per week. You may need to go onsite in Sacramento occasionally, and compensation may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
Perform monthly account reconciliations for Supply Chain-related GL accounts
Analyze and explain variances (Actual vs Budget, YoY)
Research and summarize variance drivers for stakeholders
Support audit documentation and compliance
Partner with Finance, AP, and operational teams to validate data
Prepares accurate and timely financial reports and statements.
Performs financial forecasts and analysis relating to operations, profitability, benchmarking or resource utilization, identifying trends, variances and performance gaps.
Supports leaders in preparing annual operating and/or capital budgets, and reviews submitted data to ensure budget numbers upload into financial system accurately.
Maintains financial reporting/cost accounting system, reviewing data uploads, and updating and reconciling system data.

2 years recent relevant experience
Working knowledge of accounting and financial operations and processes.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Knowledge of financial analysis principles, methods, practices, and procedures.
Working knowledge of computerized accounting/financial systems and how it’s used in compiling, recording, maintaining accounting/financial transactions and information.
Ability to translate financial data & analysis into reports and presentations for appropriate audience.
Ability to read, comprehend, and apply policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory & legal requirements.
Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical functions and computations, including percentages, decimals and prorated amounts.
Critical thinking and analytical abilities.
Ability to work with large data sets.
Organization skills and attention to details.
Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.
Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely, and to meet strict timelines.
