Requirements
  • Support change management initiatives that enhance efficiency—for example, improvements to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring, distribution, and chemical management processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in data integration and data engineering for biological, chemical, health and environmental datasets, including pipeline development, data warehousing, and data quality management
  • Strong skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server or similar)
  • Experience with APIs and data exchange formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling principles
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g.
  • Databricks, Dataiku, Snowflake, Azure)
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with strong Git workflows (branching, code reviews)
Preferred Skills
  • Strong chemistry knowledge, including understanding of chemical information formats and their tradeoffs
  • Experience developing data pipelines and performing statistical analysis, visualization, and interpretation using languages such as R, Python, or other analytical tools for complex scientific datasets (biological, toxicological, chemical, exposure, ecological, or geospatial)
  • Deep understanding of foundational scientific principles in a field relevant to ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, including relevant coursework and/or work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to balance independent development with collaborative work through IT for scalable, durable solutions
  • Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Nintex, PowerApps)
  • Web front-end development experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong track record of enabling cross-functional teams
Education
  • (Not required) – Advanced degree in data science or related fields, or toxicology, environmental science, ecology or related fields
  • (Not required) – Deep understanding of foundational scientific principles in a field relevant to ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, including relevant coursework and/or work experience
