- be assigned.
- Reads entire order to gain an understanding of the exact materials needed and the
- number of batches required.
- Measures and weighs cleaning materials (rubber/water) to effectively clean rotors.
- Sets heater at appropriate temperature (170-180 degrees) and effectively cleans
- rotors.
- Reviews and preps mixer order, locating and organizing the raw materials in the
- order in which they will be mixed.
- Weighs each ingredient, ensuring that the scale is “zeroed out” after each weighin.
- Uses plastic bags to hold raw materials as they are weighed.
- Enters amount of each ingredient into the computer.
- Ensures raw materials meet specs, rounding number to the nearest tenth (10th),
- keeping materials at the lower end of the fraction.
- Shuts down control panel to perform clean-out.
- Inspects and cleans out the mixing area to make sure the entire area is free of
- debris to avoid contamination: inside the machine, under the machine, the floor
- surrounding the mixer, the doors to the mixer.
- Returns to order and reviews mixing directions, following each step of the
- process.
- Checks temperature gauges to ensure the batch is mixed at the correct
- temperature.
- Tests the temperature of the batch, using a probe to confirm the temperature and
- ensures the batch is within the correct parameters (to prevent burning).
- Secures mixing area.
- Once the first batch is done, takes a sample to the lab for testing and further
- instructions: modification of the mix or continuation to phase two.
- When given the go-ahead to continue, drops the batch to the extruder conveyor,
- checking the extruder control panel to ensure that the batch is moving through the
- process as it should.
- Communicates with Extruder Operator to ensure the line moves smoothly.
