Requirements
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) (preferred), or immediate RBT-eligibility (i.e., you have taken and passed the RBT exam offered by the BACB and are eligible to become an RBT once linked to and supported by a BCBA or BCaBA).
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a school, clinical, or community setting (preferred)
  • Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges (preferred)
  • Experience implementing behavior plans, collecting data, or working as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or behavioral technician (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain RBT certification, including ongoing supervision and renewal requirements.
  • Completion of district‑required background checks, clearances, and fingerprinting
  • Safety Care training/certification will be required prior to working with students.
  • Additional State Specific Requirements
  • PA: 60 college credit hours or completion of the paraprofessional competence requirements
  • Ability to work independently and with periodic supervision
  • Ability to work comfortably with culturally and linguistically diverse students and families
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Must be able to travel; company does not provide vehicles or transportation
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 25 pounds
  • Prolonged walking, standing, climbing of stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting and crouching
  • Must be able to sit
  • Occasional rapid movement and physical agility in response to the spontaneity of children and those patients with neurological impairment
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch
  • Environment
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases

Education

  • (Required) – High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • (Required) – Associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, special education, or a related field (preferred, may be required by district)
  • (Not required) – Experience working with children or adolescents in a school, clinical, or community setting (preferred)
  • (Not required) – PA: 60 college credit hours or completion of the paraprofessional competence requirements
