- Trueline’s client, a top-tier global law firm with a renowned commercial litigation practice, is seeking a Litigation Legal Support Specialist to join their litigation department in Chicago (in-office presence required ~4+ days/week).
- This role offers an opportunity to support high-stakes matters across federal and state courts, working with a sophisticated team on complex commercial litigation.
- What You’ll Do as the Litigation Legal Support Specialist:
- Provide full scope litigation and legal support for attorneys: assist in all phases of litigation (motions, discovery, trial and post-trial)
- Edit, format and prepare documents/pleadings (motions, subpoenas, deposition notices, discovery requests/responses, affidavits, contracts)
- Execute electronic filings in both federal and state courts (ECF, Odyssey, etc.)
- Organize case files, trial exhibits, witness binders, deposition coordination, maintain docket calendars and attorney travel/meeting schedules
- Manage high-volume telephone coverage, message distribution, and correspondence with clients and internal teams
- Handle expense reports, time-keeping review, document management, billing liaison tasks and other administrative duties as needed
- Maintain confidentiality, exercise strong judgment and work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Must-Haves as the Litigation Legal Support Specialist:
- 5-10 years of administrative/legal support experience within a litigation practice (commercial litigation preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); comfort learning new legal software/tools
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to follow through, and work well under pressure
- Familiarity with court filing systems such as Odyssey, ECF or equivalents
- Experience with Intapp, Chrome River (or other time/expense systems), or billing/secretarial team liaison work
- Exposure to organizing trial logistics (travel, exhibits, binders) and coordinating across teams
