Requirements

  • Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a U.S. person as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a startup or technology company.
  • Extensive expertise in various mechanical engineering topics and a solid grasp of the conventional mechanical engineering curriculum
  • In-depth knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes including CNC milling, CNC turning, sheet metal work, injection molding, laser cutting, water jet cutting, and 3D printing (for both metal and plastic)
  • Thorough comprehension of design principles for photonic assembly techniques such as die bonding, vacuum reflow soldering, wire bonding, and the use of adhesives
  • Strong foundational knowledge of structural theory encompassing static analysis, modal analysis, random vibration, and shock response
  • Deep insight into fluid mechanics and heat transfer principles, including conduction, convection, and radiation
  • Proven track record of successfully completing engineering tasks utilizing mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), quantitative analysis and programming tools (such as Python), instrumentation and measurement techniques, component fabrication or procurement, systems integration and testing, as well as data collection, analysis (using ANSYS Workbench), and documentation Startup Mindset:
