Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair roll-up and coiling door systems, including: Rolling steel doors (service, insulated, and fire-rated) Security grilles and rolling shutters Counterbalance systems, barrels, springs, and guides Chain hoists and motorized operators
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform corrective repairs
- Adjust, balance, and tension rolling door systems to manufacturer specifications
- Inspect doors and operators to ensure proper function and compliance with safety standards
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, fire door regulations, and OSHA safety requirements
- Accurately document service calls, inspections, and repairs
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and completed work
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe working condition Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing and installing roll-up or rolling steel door systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude with rolling door components and counterbalance systems
- Working knowledge of motor operators, controls, and safety devices
- Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with fire-rated door testing and compliance requirements (where applicable)
