Responsibilities
- This includes identifying test required for referral, ensuring accurate test entry, creating and tracking send-out orders and managing the shipping and receiving of said samples.
- The Send Out Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate processes to result in continuity of patient care.
- Monitor and manage daily send-out of consult cases to consultants
- Review and monitor daily test orders for send-out requirements
- Accurately enter and manage referral orders in the LIS and Referral Lab systems
- Accurately enter and manage Adaptive manifest
- Prepare documentation and package specimens appropriately
- Track incoming results and upload documentation upon receipt
- Maintain send-out records and documentation for audit and quality purposes
- Respond promptly to escalated send-out requests or concerns originating from Pathology, Lab Ops, the Client, or Client Services
- Assess and respond to situations where standard protocol has failed to resolve client issues
- Communicate with ordering providers regarding test availability, status, or delays
- Act as liaison between NeoGenomics , reference labs, and internal departments
- Assist with developing and maintaining guidelines and procedures (SOPs) for the send-out process
- Organize materials for outside referrals and ensure receipt of materials released to outside facilities

- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Possesses proficiency in various Case Support Specialist II duties
- High degree of proficiency and learning agility as it relates to databases and software applications, as well as use of Microsoft Office programs
- Good typing and data entry skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including very good writing and proofreading capabilities
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with a mindset towards solutions is required
- Must be able to work in a team as well as be able to work independently and be self-motivated
- Must have knowledge of office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment
