- Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers including adult facilitators, center volunteers, outreach volunteers, and special event volunteers for Side by Side in Richmond and Charlottesville;
- Develop and deliver on-going training and technical assistance for volunteers;
- Regularly communicate with volunteers and celebrate the contributions of volunteers;
- Manage Outreach Efforts
- Coordinate outreach events including tabling at school fairs, non-profit organizations, festivals, etc.;
- Cultivate relationships with partner organizations throughout Virginia;
- Develop and facilitate training for schools, non-profits, and corporations on how to best support the LGBTQ+ community across the entire state of Virginia;
- Additional Duties
- Serve as a back-up for facilitating youth support groups;
- Assist the Associate Director with development related outreach activities;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Because of the nature of programming and events, regular evening and regular weekend hours are required

Requirements
- Knowledge of LGBTQ+ youth issues, high sense of responsibility, and commitment to the mission of Side by Side and working directly with LGBTQ+ youth.
- A commitment to racial equity and demonstrated experience working with communities of color and specifically LGBTQ+ youth of color.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in community outreach and working with large groups of volunteers and volunteer management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email and internet applications, spreadsheets, and social media.
- Ability to work as a member of a team, but also be a self-starter.
- Ability to work under pressure and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
